Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, 30 June 2026: PepsiCo India, a leading snacks and beverages company, today inaugurated its state-of-the-art flavour manufacturing facility in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, further strengthening its ‘Partnership of Progress' in the country. Madhya Pradesh, the heart of the nation, has long been a symbol of growth, resilience and opportunity. Through its Partnership of Progress, PepsiCo's presence in Ujjain brings to life "Bharat Ke Dil Mein, PepsiCo Ki Dhadkan” (Nation’s heart, PepsiCo’s heartbeat).
With an investment of INR 1,266 crore, among its largest manufacturing investments in the country, the facility is expected to serve as a catalyst for industrial development, job creation, and ancillary business growth across central India.
Gracing the opening event as the Chief Guest, Dr. Mohan Yadav, Hon'ble Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, virtually inaugurated the facility along with Eugene Willemsen, CEO – International Beverages, PepsiCo, Jagrut Kotecha, CEO – India and South Asia, PepsiCo and Even Norton, GM and SVP, PepsiCo Global Concentrate Solutions. Present for the event were senior state dignitaries, PepsiCo's India leadership, industry partners, and community members from Ujjain city, marking a significant milestone in the company's manufacturing journey in India.
The Ujjain plant is part of PepsiCo’s investment commitment pipeline of INR 5,700 crore in India through 2030, aimed at expanding manufacturing capacity, strengthening supply chains, enhancing sustainability capabilities, and supporting long-term growth in one of the company's key anchor markets. Reinforcing PepsiCo India's commitment to local manufacturing under the vision of Make in India and Viksit Bharat 2047, the 22-acre facility marks the company's second flavour manufacturing plant in India and will manufacture beverage concentrates for PepsiCo’s iconic beverage portfolio. With the potential to generate approximately 500 direct and indirect employment opportunities, the facility will strengthen region’s socio-economic development and advancing the company’s “In India, For India” manufacturing strategy.

PepsiCo India has a growing commitment in Madhya Pradesh, through its vast collaborative farming initiative, engaging more than 2000 farmers in the state for sustainable sourcing of chip-grade potatoes. The new facility further deepens the company's long-standing commitment to the state's economic development and agricultural ecosystem.
Beyond manufacturing operations and direct employment on premises, the facility will support the development of a broader food and beverage manufacturing ecosystem in Madhya Pradesh by encouraging investments in supporting infrastructure and ancillary industries.
The facility has been developed in line with PepsiCo's Winning with pep+ (PepsiCo Positive) philosophy and incorporates advanced technologies focused on operational excellence and sustainability. The plant will operate entirely on renewable electricity energy sourced from renewable generation sources and is designed for zero liquid discharge technology and industry-leading water efficiency measures. As part of PepsiCo operations, efforts will be directed towards replenishing 100% of the water used at the facility. The plant reflects the company's continued efforts to build future-ready operations that support sustainable and accelerated growth.
